Redhead Historical Excursion
I encourage you to have an historical excursion around Redhead from the
Fernleigh Track to appreciate the matters discussed in this book. Visit the
Whitebridge Cemetery on Dudley Road and the War Memorial on the
corner of Ocean Street and Redhead Road, Dudley.
You can read the information at the old Redhead Station, make your way
to the remaining Lambton B Mine buildings on Collier Street occupied by
the Redhead Men’s Shed, then view some of the original miner’s cottages
in Cowlishaw Street opposite the shops.
The Redhead War Memorial is located on Cowlishaw Street in
Bicentennial Park, next to the Redhead Community Preschool. The photo
of the Redhead Surf Life Savers in 1908 was taken near Redhead Bluff,
close to the heritage shark tower.
The mural shown in the photograph on the front page and two more
memorial murals are located at Redhead Public School.
